Management Information System (MIS)

MIS project is designed to improve the integrity, timeliness and accessibility of the information needed to monitor the productivity and integrity of the passport issuance system.  The objective is to ensure that all authorized users have access to needed information on demand through web browsers at their desktops.  The system provides Microsoft reports and query capability to allow access of specific data as well as generation of information needed for special analyses.  MIS automates and formalizes the existing work process into a system that can better manage and organize the flow of information.  The system has requirements to allow web data entries, automate data retrieval from legacy systems, distribute various reports, integrate data analysis and manage labor and staffing information.  The system contains a web user interface built on Microsoft ASP.NET technology.  The system integrates multiple data sources ranges from SQL Server database to Oracle database to provide valid and up-to-date information.  MIS also leverages COTS products powerful functionalities such as SAP BusinessObjects Suite’s Web Intelligence tool and Data Services tool.  Web Intelligence tool allows Ad-hoc reporting capabilities for users and administrators; Data Service tool provides commanding real-time replication abilities.  These additions improve the functionalities in MIS exponentially for our customers.
